Malang Tempo Doeloe VI 2011 is going to be held on this May 19-22, 2011. The Inggil Foundation is still managing this greatest annual cultural event this year. Despite of the cracks in the Dewan Kesenian Malang (The Malang’s Arts Council) recently. This year the Malang Tempo Doeloe VI taking “Discovery Heritage” as the theme. It offers an opportunity to know more about the richness of Malang’s cultural heritages. There are some activities that you can join during the festival, such as cultural tour, study group, workshop, arts performance, and traditional markets where you can find many traditional food and crafts. They are all offered to make visitors come closer to Malang’s culture, people, history, and arts that live harmoniously in Malang.

The management of Arema Indonesia developed it to make Arema Indonesia able to communicate more intensively with its Malang ’s Aremania, Arema Indonesia big fans. It’s been a long time since the last time I posted something really personal on this Malang Photos blog . Since I’m trying to posts more information about Malang , like hotel s, guest house , phone lists, flight to Malang, and other things that do not really come from me. This time, I post this picture, a man who was taking seeds to the paddy field . It was my wife who took this picture. She is really a good partner for me in taking pictures on the street, since I ride the motor cycle. Her old SE K510i worked fine here. If you live here in Indonesia, you’ll find this scene pretty easy. Although it is now those beautiful paddy field has been turned into houses and factories. Hope that ten years from now, I will still be able to see this kind of beautiful scenes – hopefully ….

Malang held the Malang Tempo Doeloe 2010 successfully, despite of some comments from visitors who said that this 2010 Tempo Doeloe was not as big as the 2009’s. Anyway, I agree that this event is really good in attracting people to visit Malang . It means a lot to Malang which wants to be known as one of tourism destination in Indonesia. Congratulation to the committee and of course beloved Aremania. Malang Regency created a buzz by creating the Malang online demographic data base . This system will simplify the task of Population and Civil Service in managing the population data. Maybe you don’t know what the “L” is. Well, “L” is the sign for a vehicle that comes from Surabaya. Vehicles that come from Malang has the “N” sign. Malang is known as a flower city . That “was” true. Nowadays, Malang is more known as educational city as there are many universities here. If you want to find flowers, then I recommend Batu . If you have already in Malang, you should visit Batu. There you will find many beautiful flower plantations. Maybe because Batu –as a place where flowers in Malang come from- had been a part of Malang, while Malang is bigger than Batu, then Malang “was” called as a flower city. This is only my assumption then. Now it depends to the Malang’s government and its citizen to reconstruct Malang, whether to let it to be a different kind of city, or go back to what the world has known about it, as a city of flower. As the biggest Indonesian flight service, Garuda Indonesia will add at least seven new international flight routes. These new flight routes include Amsterdam – on June 2010, after that the Brisbane and Taipei.
