The building itself is now often rented by the owner to hold wedding party, workshop, seminar, and exhibition. Aula SKODAM V Brawijaya has a very strategic place. It is located at the very heart of Malang . You can go there using almost any available public transportation. It is also comfortable to reach it by foot. The Alun-alun Malang in front of the Aula itself has been one of the most visited tourism spot in Malang. If you stay at Tugu Hotel Malang , probably you can see it from your window. I took this Malang city Major building in 2008. Of course there has been many changes around the building. But I can assure you that right now the environment is still astonishing. I’m now living in Pakis, Malang . Before December 6th,2009, I lived in Sawojajar, with my wife’s family. It is really a shame that I don’t know Wendit . It is only about 3 kilometers from my new home. My first impression is that the pool is not as great as what people said. But that is only my first impression. The fast is: it is really a great place to visit. If you already in Malang, don’t let this nice place left unvisited. Despite of the dirty ground, you will find that Wendit is very natural. Bird’s singing, green trees, and funny monkeys. Monkeys? Yes, monkey has been the icon of Wendit. They are funny, but yet you have to be a little bit careful with them. They have been accustomed to deal with human, that’s why they seem to be very annoying. It is said that the monkey can not be taken home as a pet. Brawijaya Museum is one of the most modern and well cared Indonesian museum in Malang . It is located at the southern end of Ijen Boulevard . The Brawijaya Museum was built on May 04th, 1968 by Kolonel Pur. Dr. Soewondo. It was named as “ CITTA UTTHAPANA CAKRA ”, means Spirit Fire Spreader. This museum has 6825 m2 area space that is divided into two main areas. The show room and office room. This museum houses momentous, weapons, documents, photographs, battle plans and other stuffs related to Malang history. There is a “Tank” which was used in the Battle of Surabaya on November 10th, 1945. It is one of the most well known Brawijaya Museum's collection and it is placed in front of the museum . There is also an antiaircraft defense weapon that was confiscated by “BKR” on September 1945 from Japanese soldier. We can see the symbol of The Brawijaya Museum in the behind of the building. Singosari temple, also known as Kendedes temple, was founded in honor to King Kertanegara , the last king of Singosari dynasty who died in 1292 AD. It was erected in 1300 AD at the same time when the ritual Sradha took place. In the vicinity of the temple there are two gigantic statue called Dwarapala, believed to be the entrance guards to the palace. This temple has saved the historical story that always remember by Malang public. However, Singosari temple is a symbol of the existence of Malang regency from years ago. As the other East Java's temple, Singosari temple is formed from red bricks and arranged in cone building, called temple. This temple also has beautiful relief that describe the great of Singosari Kingdom years ago. This is the south west corner of Cor Jesu Malang. As a part of Dhira Bhakti Foundation, Cor Jesu has many schools, from kindergarten up to vocational school . The building on the left is belong to Cor Jesu Elementary School, while the building with orange wall is part of Cor Jesu Junior High School.

Located on Jl. Mayjend. Sungkono, Buring, Kedung Kandang, Malang - GOR Ken Arok is one of the best Stadium in East Java. Taking Ken Arok as the symbol, GOR Ken Arok tries to represent the glory from the past. Ken Arok is the founder of Kerajaan Tumapel, lately it was known as Shinghasari. GOR Ken Arok is the only type A Stadium in East Java. Malang has many monuments. Some are pretty big and located in the center of the city. Some are too small to notice. Some are taken cared of appropriately. Some are just left abandoned. Do this thing also happen in another city? This Malang’s Lotus Monument is located on Jl. Ijen, just in front of Brawijaya Museum. On the east, the is the Malang Public Library. Maybe because it is located on the very heart of Malang then this Lotus Monument is well treated.

Nowadays, Celaket 21 is a name used to call a school located on Jl. Jaksa Agung Suprapto. The number 21 is of course its street number. I don’t really know what the building was used in the past. According to its similarities to the Ursulines Monastery building that is only 300 meters to the north from Celaket 21, I guess they were built at the same period of time. Ursulines Monastery building was built in the early of 1900’s. Some say that there is a tunnel connecting these two buildings. The Brothers of BHK began to use the building from 1928. Now, the Celaket 21 is used by the Brothers of BHK. The building is also used as a Mardi Wiyata Junior High and Elementary School. These are two photos on Celaket 21. The plan to make the Malang’s Post Office on Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan into a mall has been estimated. For the feasibility test must go through, including whether it is profitable for the company. For anyone who has ever lived in Malang, Gereja Ijen must has a special place in their heart. Gereja Ijen is the Cathedral of Malang Diocese. I do hope that these photos will help you to call your past. These photos were taken from inside the Church. As one of my friend were having the marriage blessing. Unfortunately, the camera didn’t catch enough light, as you can see, some of the photos are blurred, and have too much noise on the grey area.
