Malang Worth Visit Place: Coban Pelangi Waterfall

Image
Beside Coban Rondo waterfall, Malang also has many other famous waterfalls. One of them is Coban Pelangi waterfall . Compared to Coban Rondo , the Coban Pelangi will give you a different experience. It is very natural. Beside the concrete bridge about 100 meters from the waterfall, you’ll find no other ‘modern’ thing. Need to hideaway from your daily routine? This is a great place, since your cell phone will not receive any signal to receive any calls or sms. You’ll be totally separated from your ‘world’ and get yourself into your very nature situation. There will be only you and the earth. How to go to Coban Pelangi from Malang ? There are some alternatives you can take to get there. First, is using cheap public vehicle. People call it ‘mikrolet.’ But be careful with the rate, once the driver knows that you are a foreigner you’ll have to pay more expensive than the regular rate. Beside that, I don’t think it is safe enough for you to use it. Ask your local guide to get you he...

Pakis Wendit Swimming Pool

Image
I’m now living in Pakis, Malang . Before December 6th,2009, I lived in Sawojajar, with my wife’s family. It is really a shame that I don’t know Wendit . It is only about 3 kilometers from my new home. My first impression is that the pool is not as great as what people said. But that is only my first impression. The fast is: it is really a great place to visit. If you already in Malang, don’t let this nice place left unvisited. Despite of the dirty ground, you will find that Wendit is very natural. Bird’s singing, green trees, and funny monkeys. Monkeys? Yes, monkey has been the icon of Wendit. They are funny, but yet you have to be a little bit careful with them. They have been accustomed to deal with human, that’s why they seem to be very annoying. It is said that the monkey can not be taken home as a pet. Some said that those monkey were cursed or something. The pool itself is regarded as a mystic pool. According to the local folk tale, the pool offers mystical power to those wh...

Image
If we explore Malang Regency, we will find much beauty hidden. Many of them are hidden and left unknown. But I believe that anyone would agree that the region has an exceptional natural charm. Take a look at the Sumber Ringin bathhouse. Located in the Tumpang village, in the district of Wringin Songo, Malang Regency. It is a virgin, untouched, exotic place as anyone could wish. If only the virgin dressed up .… If you are passing the Malangsuko village, district of Malang Regency Tumpang, there's nothing wrong if you go over to this bathing house. To find the location is not easy, because there is no large sign on the highway to go here. There is only a sign taped to the walls of the house residents. From the highway, it takes about 10 minutes to reach the location of this Sumber Ringin Bathing House. If you want to enjoy the natural scenery along the way, you can rent a wagon. There are many verdant garden plants. Unfortunately the access road to the location of the bathhouse...

Malang Lotus Monument in front of Brawijaya Museum

Image
Malang has many monuments. Some are pretty big and located in the center of the city. Some are too small to notice. Some are taken cared of appropriately. Some are just left abandoned. Do this thing also happen in another city? This Malang’s Lotus Monument is located on Jl. Ijen, just in front of Brawijaya Museum. On the east, the is the Malang Public Library. Maybe because it is located on the very heart of Malang then this Lotus Monument is well treated.

Malang’s Post Office is Planned to be Changed Into Shopping Mall

Image
The plan to make the Malang’s Post Office on Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan into a mall has been estimated. For the feasibility test must go through, including whether it is profitable for the company. This is explained by Subkhan, the head of Malang’s Post Office to some journalists on Wednesday (6 / 5). Subkhan does not claim to know the details yet. As we can see, Kepanjen’s Post Office has been doing the BOT (Build Operate transfer). BOT will make more income to the Post Office. BOT is a system where developer build the area in a period of time. Kepanjen’s Post Office’s BOT will run for 25 years and then returned to the post office. The location of Malang Post Office, which is in the heart of very strategic spot of Malang make this office very interesting to the developers. The fact is, there already have been established four malls around the Alun-Alun Merdeka. First, Sarinah Plaza and Alun-alun Mal. Then along Jl. I do hope that these photos will help you to call your past. These photos were taken from inside the Church. As one of my friend were having the marriage blessing. Unfortunately, the camera didn’t catch enough light, as you can see, some of the photos are blurred, and have too much noise on the grey area. But I believe that these poor photos are enough to pull the trigger of your memories. Technorati Tags: Gereja Ijen , Malang Diocese Cathedral Photos

Ramayana Malang Plaza Photo

Image
Ramayana Malang is one of plaza you can find in Malang. Malang Kabupaten’s alun-alun is surrounded by some Plazas. Sarinah Plaza is on the north, Ramayana is on the north east, and on the south east you’ll find Mitra 1 Plaza, Gajahmada Plaza, and Malang Plaza. I don’t really know why there are so many plazas on that small spot. I think 2 or 3 big stores is enough. Moreover, the plazas are not specialized to sell something, compared to THR in Surabaya, which is focused on cell phones and computers. But when I see the crowd inside those plazas, especially in Saturday nights, Sundays, and other holidays, I have no doubt that Malang’s people need more places to shop, hehe …. I’m not that shopaholic. It is really a hard time for me to accompany friends or relatives who want to go shopping in those plazas. Traditional market is more interesting. So, maybe that’s why I can not understand why Malang’s people need more than 5 plazas. Technorati Tags: Malang , Photos , Ramayana Plaza
