Streets that really represent Malang

Image
Jalan Bandung It is very nice to walk on this street, even in midday. The trees along side the street will keep the air feels cool and fresh. Jalan Ijen This street is really the icon of Malang. Come to Malang and try to enjoy the view. You will soon understand why Jalan Ijen is so famous. The houses along this street are forbidden to changed. The government of Malang has this part of the city as the reserved area, just like the Ursuline Monastery on Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto. The Palm trees remind us to the Beverly Hills, although they may completely different, hehe.... Jalan Basuki Rahmat This is one of the most busiest street in Malang. You can find Banks and offices over there. You will not find trees here, but buildings.

Photos of Gereja Ijen and Gereja Kayutangan

Technorati Tags: Ijen , Kayutangan , Gereja , Malang As you know, the Ijen Cathedral is one of the most famous Catholic Church in Malang. Of course people would say that Gereja Kayutangan is more beautiful artistically. But as the cathedral, Gereja Ijen is still holding the role. Compared to Gereja Kayutangan, Gereja Ijen lacks the details of architectural elements. I don't really know why, but I guess it is because the church it self is younger than the Gereja Kayutangan. Now compare them with these ... As you can see now. The Gereja Kayutangan is beautifully built, completed with the style of European architecture. This is my favorite one. I took it through my right motorcycle mirror. Nice! isn't it? Hehe... Unfortunately, I have no architectural background, so I'm not in the place to say a thing on it. Hope you can enjoy it.

Photos of Kota Baru Malang Train Station

Image
As a small town, Malang has two train stations. They are named Stasiun Kota Baru ( New City Train Station) and Stasiun Kota Lama (Old City Train Station). The New City Train Station is located at the very heart of Malang city, just about 500 meters from Alun-alun Kota. While the Stasiun Kota Lama is located at the south region of the city. I took these photos yesterday. It was very cloudy that I had to use the Shadow/Highlight feature of Photoshop CS2 to make them brighter. Technorati Tags: Malang , Stasiun Kota Baru

Photos of Mountains Around Malang

Image
Malang is surrounded by mountains. Semeru in the east, Kendeng mountains in the south, Kaw in the west, and Arjuno in the north west. Maybe that is the reason why Malang is also famous as ‘kota dingin.’ That was ten years ago. Today you can not associate ‘cold’ or even ‘cool’ to Malang anymore. Now it is just as hot as Blitar, especially on October, the time when the rainy season is started. Nyem…. So ungkep …. This is Arjuno. The name is taken from one of the Pandawa fighter who is known as the most handsome warrior. Among the hikers Arjuno is known as a very ‘ angker ’ mountain. There are stories about ghost, unusual object, and such things. When you hear Gunung Kawi (Kawi Mountain), probably some of you will relate it to a place named Wonosari. Wonosari is famous as a place to where people are seeking wealth through praying. Wonosari is located at the south east of Gunung Kawi, about 20 km from Kepanjen. As you know, Kawi and Arjuno are stand side by sid
