Taking Ken Arok as the symbol, GOR Ken Arok tries to represent the glory from the past. Ken Arok is the founder of Kerajaan Tumapel, lately it was known as Shinghasari. GOR Ken Arok is the only type A Stadium in East Java. The stadium can be used to hold multi kind of sports, including ping-pong, basket ball, volley ball, shuttle cock, boxing, aerobic, and also art performances. This 25 billion Stadium is able to accommodate 5,000 to 7,500 spectators.

The world’s backpacking trend really increases the occupancy of small hotels in Malang. Malang is known as one of Educational City beside Yogyakarta, according to the number of schools and universities in town. Although Surabaya is much larger than Malang, but people still consider Malang as the best place in East Java to get their degree. Maybe that is the reason why every book exhibition always able to get many visitors. This old book exhibition was held in front of the Velodrome a special stadium for bikers. According to some of the book sellers, for two days exhibition they could get about Rp. 250.000,00 not a small amount for them. The visitor are mostly students and young families that bring their children.

It seems like the Malang Pemkot quite success to keep Jalan Ijen on its shape after the Malang Tempo Doeloe big exhibition. Here we can see that the grass has been well treated. Two days ago, this street was so crowded that made the park a little bit messy.
